About Pablo Reyes

Vitals: Born in the Dominican Republic, in the northern city of Mao. Actually he’s living in Santo Domingo, the capital of the country, in the antique neighborhood area of the Colonial Zone.

Ocupation: From 1988, he studied and worked as an Accountant for 4 years. That very same year he initiated his curiosity on art, with a course on Gothic Typography. He graduated as a Telematics Engineer (Telecommunications, Digital Electronics, Computer Science and Robotics) in 1996 in Santiago, the second major city of the Dominican Republic. These studies were key to the further understanding of light waves and the behavior of the modern digital camera sensors and technology. After moving to Santo Domingo in 1997, he completes administrative and managerial trainings, such as Persuasive Presentations, Principle Centered Leadership, Passionate Customer Service, Finance and Administration, among others.

In 2001, he starts with a profound interest in digital photography, after buying his first Creative Labs digital camera with a resolution of 640x480 pixels (VGA resolution). Later in 2002, he goes for a Point-and-Shoot HP Photosmart 810 of 4 Megapixels. He takes courses on Digital Photography, Photoshop 7.0, Photoshop CS2 and Lighting, some local, some online and some distance training. Among his initial teachers is the very famous Dominican Photographer Héctor Báez. In 2005 he jumps to use the Konica Minolta 8 Megapixel camera and subscribes to magazines like Popular Photography®. He gains experience with D-SLR equipment like the 6 Megapixel Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D and some other brands like Canon, Panasonic Lumix, Sony and Kodak. In 2007, he was amazed with the picture quality when practicing with the famous 10 Megapixel Nikon D200.

The image quality of every time better digital cameras and the modern sensor processors and lenses make his interest in photography grow to a level that unleashes his creativity in a way that his close friends and relatives star to follow and admire. Along with his wife and professional Make-Up artist, Damilka Victoriano, they are the ones who kept encouraging him to pursue photography as a business and to take advantage of his imaging art. In 2007 these arrangements are initiated and finally in 2008 he acquires the Nikon D300: his first professional grade camera for a serious professional photography business …a triumph! His work started to be published in many local papers and magazines, such as Green TV and Celebrities® Magazine, Zona N Listin Diario Magazine, Listin Diario, among others. In 2009 he was invited to cover fashion events like Dominican Republic Fashion Week and as an international journalist at Colombia Moda in Medellín, Colombia. He also covered famous award events, such as El Casandra, and his photos of celebrities have made the cover of the magazines mentioned before.

In 2010, he graduated from the New York Institute of Photography®, the largest and oldest photography school in America, as a Professional Photographer, after taking their Complete Course in Professional Photography. Then another major camera arrived to the arsenal: the Nikon D3s.

Today, even though he’s still working as an Adviser Engineer for International Telecommunications of major firms in his country and America, he spends the rest of the time helping people better their life and to Photography.
